Family Fun

I have been trying to think of a fun family activity to end Caleb’s summer break and enjoy this last bit of time we have before the baby.

We have decided to go to the zoo! It’s been three years since we’ve been there and I’m rather excited! I figure Sacramento has a good hospital “just in case” but all should be fine.

I love being able to leave my cell phone in the car, letting go of everything in mind and hanging out with my family. Caleb make me so happy and I cherish little things like this since we haven’t had too many of them since I started my job.

One major goal I have as a parent is to sit at the table in 20 years and have my kids say, “remember that time we went to……..man it was fun!”

P.S. I’m 36 weeks today, only four weeks left! Crazy!

18 Weeks

I’ve had this on-going head cold that just won’t go away! I’m so tired of it. It starts to let up and I think it’s going away and then it comes back stronger. There are so many people that have it and are just as irritated about it as me.

I’ve been horrible at returning emails and phone calls. I’ve never been this bad. I’m just tired, sick.

Caleb is doing great. I measured him the other day and he is 4’ 8”. My eight year old is almost 5 feet tall! And handsome as ever.

The baby is growing and move around lots. Especially at night which probably isn’t good. My kid is going to have issues with when to sleep and when to not. Ha! S/he likes to stretch out in my tummy---not the most comfortable feeling in the world. My stomach is definitely expanding. My work pants are about to go out the door and on to the next size. Along with most of my jeans!

Tomorrow is my doctor’s appointment. I’m 18 weeks as of last Monday. Can’t believe that I’m already 4 ½ months along! I will be getting back the results of my seven tubes of blood I donated---7 tubes!!!! This was the Cystic Fibrosis test, Down syndrome and pre-screening. They scared me though when they called me on Monday leaving a message to return his call.

Anyway, here are a couple pictures for you. Yes I’m lingering around in sweats and yes someday I will take a good full picture but for now…here you are.

Catch Up

My internet has been down for two weeks which has really sucked. However it’s back up and running so I can catch up on everything and make my entries.

Work is going alright. Every time I hear of all the people being laid off daily and how horrible the real estate market here is doing I’m so thankful to have this job. And I can’t say enough about the medical. I do not have to pay one thing for my pregnancy; it’s completely covered 100%.

I finally told work last week that I’m pregnant and I am not going to my training like scheduled. I will have to go after the baby comes.

Since I haven’t been able to post the baby blogs weekly, here are a few pictures to catch you up and I should be able to resume the posts on Monday/Tuesday. I’ll be 16 weeks on Monday, it’s flown by already. Which honestly I wish it wouldn’t, I want to enjoy each part and have life slow down a bit. I had the flu last Thursday which really sucked and I had to call in sick for the first time. I figured when I threw up all over my car on my way to work I’d better just stay home. I haven’t felt the baby move yet but I have had different feelings of pressure which I never felt with Caleb. It’s like I’ll have pressure on one part and then in another spot. It’s kind of cool. The doctor’s appointment went great, I heard the heart beat and my tummy measured at 15 weeks (at the time I was 14) so all is good and the baby is healthy. I have another appointment Feb 19th and then 2 ½ weeks after that I will have our ultrasound to find out if we’re having a little boy or girl. I am going to bring Caleb to the ultrasound; I think that would be really neat for him to see the baby.

14 weeks

15 weeks

I’m trying to prepare him for the baby but not overwhelm him. I am nervous about how things will go after the baby comes. Caleb has been my little boy for 8 years all by himself. He’s only had to share time with Makayla and that’s not constantly. I think every parent probably struggles with this to some degree. I don’t want to rock his world too much but it’s sort of unavoidable. I plan to keep him involved as much as he can be and make sure I have lots of time for him afterwards. He seems pretty excited about it and every week when I get the pregnancy emails he’s always curious how much the baby weight this week. That’s his thing.

So anyway I wanted to catch everyone up. Hope all is well.

Party Time!!!

My baby turned eight on Wednesday and we celebrated with some good ol’ Chuck E Cheese fun! He had lots of his friends there, received some great gifts and played games like crazy. He was one happy kid.

I loved it when Chuck E. came out and sang to him! He got so embarrassed but you could totally tell he was loving it!

Here’s to another year….!

So tomorrow is the big day!

I don’t know how I’ll do getting up at 5:30 every morning. Ha!

I had a great weekend. I really enjoyed my day off on Friday. I did NOTHING. It was fantastic!

Saturday night Jarred and I went to Caleb’s dad to watch the UFC fights. They were great until the end. Oh well, next time.

Today I took the kids with my mom and brother to the pumpkin patch. I was highly disappointed in it. Wimples is SO much better and next year I will definitely continue our tradition.

Well anyway, I’ll let you know how the week goes.

Oh and baby girl turned 10 on Wednesday! Isn't she a doll?

Recap

Holy smokes it’s been busy (story of my life). I had a really really great weekend and not one picture to prove it! After getting some unrealistic people that put me in tears by the end of Friday, I am much much better and the weekend only continued to get better.

Friday night my son found a new best friend. A co-worker came over who thought it would be ok to play just one game with my son. Ha! One game? Hello they’re like total BFF’s now and Caleb wants to do this and that and this and that. One game, never offer to play just ONE game with a seven year old, prepare for like 200!

Saturday I spent with the kids—went to the park by the river and watched Caleb float down then walk up, then float down, and walk up, and float down, and walk up…………..and float down, and walk up. We also enjoyed watching the tubers (which we are totally going to do) go down the river…one guy ‘s ice chest got away and was yelling and yelling for someone to catch it….other’s were a little more careful—one guy had a baby floatie with a shade tied to his tube and his ice chest inside. Smart guy! Protect the beer!

Later that night I had a bbq which no one showed up to except my two single cute friends, geee how ironic is that?? *smile* I swear I did not do this on purpose!

I haven’t laughed as much as I laughed Sat night in a long long time! It was that laugh were your ab muscles tighten up and you can’t breath and your face freezes! Half the time I didn’t even know what was so funny, but man it was hilarious! We all played some DDR (Dance Dance Revolution), Twister, and Yatzee!

Then Sunday, we finished off the weekend at the waterslides! Note to self…always bring a friend for your child. C got bored pretty quick cause I'm uncool and can’t run 50 mph in every direction. But then we ran into our friends  and the boys all hung out and we all traded kids so we could go down the different slides!

C’s getting brave at his old age but still has some fear in him…so me being the sweet, sympathetic mother I am offered him $20 cash to go down the Black Widow (scary one). At first he said that no amount of money is worth facing his fear. And then he pulled out the Bible, THE BIBLE!—“The Bible says that money is not important!” No, I’m not going to hell, geese!

But after all day and much consideration, right as we were leaving he decided to do it. So he headed up the stairs, tube in hand while I waited at the bottom to witness his fear. (See, totally sympathetic!) They come flying out of there, Caleb stands up and screams with his arms up like a champ “That was Awesome!” Then he slowly walks over to me, looks at me like a long lost puppy would and says, “Do I still get the $20?” like he thought he wouldn’t since he loved it!

Ya, I’m so not making deals like that anymore!

What a fun weekend!

So as you will see we spent the weekend camping with some friends and had so much fun!

C was his normal self refusing to look at the camera.

Babygirl is much easier to convince....

Such a pretty little lady...

He's a cutie too...

And it's the morning! Can't you tell by C's hair?!

This was the "time out" rock...he looks thrilled huh?

Yep they both visited it! She actually fell asleep sitting there.

Oh boys!

Day two is time for the hat and no makeup
We all gathered in the truckr and drove up the mountain...well, the kids drove

This was the smoky view from the top. You can kind of see the lake.

Then Caleb got a little hungry and decided to eat the bait

We didn't catch anything

But we had fun
