The baby is doing good. I don’t ever remember Caleb stretching and pushing like this one does. Sometimes (a lot) he pushes so hard and it is so intense I can hardly handle it. It doesn’t hurt, it’s just so much pressure it takes my breath away. I had another ultrasound yesterday and he’s still a boy. He had no problem showing us his stuff but he sure in the heck didn’t want us to see his face. The whole time he was wiggling like crazy but refused to look at the front of my belly rather then my back. Silly kid does have a touch of my stubbornness. He weighs about 3 lbs and measured 2 weeks big…so he’s measuring 29 weeks and I’m only 27. So there’s no telling when this kid will come. I absolutely do not want to be induced at all but I don’t want a 10 lb kid. If the time comes and the doc wants to induce me so I don’t have such a big baby, which would be really hard for me. I have a fear of drugs/intervention. Don’t get me wrong, I will do what is necessary to keep the baby and myself safe, it just scares me. I think it’s used entirely too much when it isn’t needed. I have a lot of faith in my body that it knows what to do and I really hope to have him naturally. I have nothing to prove, I just don’t like that stuff. If you can’t tell my mind is starting to think about this upcoming event. I won’t lie; I’m terrified to give birth. I think with Caleb I didn’t have a clue what to expect so it didn’t faze me before hand. But now, now I’m scared.
Anyway here is my 27 week pictures.

26 Weeks
Monday my baby turned 26 weeks. I cannot believe that 6 ½ months have already gone by...well 5 months since I found out about him. There are only 3 full months left until his due date. Am I ready for this? Not sure but I can’t wait to meet him! I think he’ll have brown hair, brown eye brows and dark lashes light.
In my last post, or maybe the one before, I wrote that I don’t really feel pregnant except my expanding belly and him moving. Ya well things have changed. I now feel VERY pregnant and uncomfortable. I forgot how uncomfortable being pregnant is. My belly is starting to get in the way a little, his feet/head/butt/whatever have made their way right into my ribs, and I can’t take a full breath for a long while after I eat. I have had horrible leg cramps too. I looked up pregnant leg cramps and they said that possibly they’re caused by restricted blood flow to the legs because of the weight of the baby. It recommended lots of water (which I drink), plenty of rest (ya right), warm baths (I can handle that) and sleeping on my left side. Sleeping on my left side has made it easier to fall asleep, otherwise they’re always crampy. I know I don’t get as much sleep as I probably should but I’m starting to feel tired a lot again. I get exhausted pretty easily.
He is moving all the time and his kicks are getting stronger. In church the other day I was looking down and he kicked and I could see it...made me smile. Last night was the same thing at work. Caleb tries to feel him but doesn’t have much patience for keeping his hand there. He’s felt him once and thought it was pretty cool. He seems very excited to have a brother which makes me really happy. I think he’s going to be a fantastic big brother.
Anyway here are some pictures.

Easter
The Friday before Easter I grabbed Caleb for a couple hours and we dying our Easter eggs. We had a “lucky egg”, a “humpty dumpty” egg, an egg that says, “If you touch me I’ll break” and we even made a special one for Baby B...among many other colorful ones. I love dying Easter eggs, I don’t think I’ll ever grow out of it.
Saturday evening I rented Bedtime Stories for all of us to watch which is super cute. Caleb loved it! Talk about a movie to get your imagination rolling. I wanted to make up bedtime stories because of this movie.
I got home Sunday morning and slept until Caleb woke up at 9:30. I put a ribbon up so Caleb couldn't pass. So I got the camera ready, let him come through and see his Easter basket and he was thrilled! He said this was one of the best Easter’s ever. High five us!
We proceeded to go to church and listened to a wonderful sermon. I love our pastor and I miss going to church so much. We came home and had an Easter Egg hunt first. The kid even got $5! He was a happy boy!
Dinner was delicious and all of us had a great time. I managed to get in another nap that day but struggled to stay awake at work that night. However, it was completely worth it and I’m glad Caleb had such a great Easter!

Caleb & Baseball
He’s hesitant on swinging to hit the ball but when he does, he usually connects, at least with a foul. His catching his improving and he’s doing good at backing up third.
I’m quite proud of him and love watching his games.

24 Weeks
In 2 ½ weeks I have to do the diabetes test and blood count to make sure I’m not anemic. Then I go to back to the doctor in four weeks.
I can’t believe how fast it’s going. Seriously, I can’t. Here in the next month or so I will be interviewing pediatricians, which I need one for Caleb anyway, signing up for child birth classes, and gathering everything else I need for the baby. At the rate he’s growing who knows when he’ll be here.
I still feel good. He has found my ribs, ahhhh!!!! My back is hurting a tad, and my side muscles feel like they’re already stretched to the max.
So here’s my 24 week pictures, taken on Monday.

Whew
Caleb is feeling much better, poor kid. He still has the head cold but the flu part has surpassed. What a trooper huh?
It was hard coming back to reality and a seven day work week after vacation but I’m hanging in there.
I’m 23 weeks pregnant today. I can’t believe how quickly it has already gone by. My stomach is defiantly sticking out (and starting to be very noticeable when I forget it’s there) and he is moving all the time. Every time Caleb tries to feel him move he stops moving. It’s amusing....this one has my stubborn streak as well.
I’ve been feeling much much better. I still have the sinuses and cough a little but nothing major. I think it helps finally being able to get adequate rest. Other then tiredness I feel good. I almost wouldn’t know I was pregnant if he didn’t move and my belly wasn’t there. My next doctor’s appointment is on the 2nd.
Now that life has settled down and I’m on the same shift for the remainder of my pregnancy, you can expect more frequent blogs from me.

20 Weeks

I found a neat belly band thing at Target the other day....love it! I can wear my pants still thanks to it. Hopefully I’ll be able to wear them for a while. The big day is Friday............I have my ultrasound! I’m super excited! I can’t wait for Caleb to see his baby sister or brother too! I find myself wondering what this baby will be and look like. I’m rather anxious to see how different my kids will be, yet how similar too.

My doctor's appointment Thursday went good.
I heard the very lovely heart beat, nice and strong. S/he'd been moving around like crazy all day so I was hoping s/he'd be asleep by the appointment so the doc didn't have to go chasing around the heart beat like I can remember with Caleb. Oh Caleb, how he have always been a busy soul.
My blood pressure was nice and low, 80/50 and I had lost 3 lbs since my appointment. But the doc says everything is fine, my belly measures fine and all is well.
I have my ultrasound on March 6th. I'm so excited. I can't wait for Caleb to see his little brother or sister and of course I can't wait to see him or her either! So stay tuned as I'll be sure to share!
I was more exhausted than I thought I was. I knew I was tired but didn't realize how tired. I was home Wed by 7 am, went to bed and woke up to do something and then went back to bed and slept until four when it was time to get Caleb. I went back to bed at like 11 pm, woke up at 8:30 on Thursday to take Caleb to school and went back to sleep until 2:30 when it was time to get ready for my doc appointment. Then went to bed at 11pm, slept until 8:30 am Friday, got up to take Caleb to school and woke up in horrible pain (will explain in a few). Called doc and went back to bed until 1:00 pm. And now I'm at work hoping the night goes by quick. I don't know if it's being sick or just plain exhaustion but I can't tell you how much I needed the sleep.
So this morning (Friday) I woke up, rolled out of bed, stood up and hunched My first thought was my bladder infection had turned into a kidney infection. I called the doc, he wanted to see me later so I tried to sleep. Of course I was nervous what it was and couldn't walk so I felt it best to stay in bed. We went to the doc later that afternoon and he informed me that he's pretty sure I tore an oblique muscle. ??????? I asked if this was common, he said no. He said it takes 4-6 weeks to heal and I need to be very careful. He actually wanted to give me Valium to knock me out for a full 24 hours and let me muscles fully relax. I told him I didn't think I would be able to donate a full 24 hours to that although it didn't sound half bad. So he told me to stay off work until further notice and let it heal. I didn't argue but after the appointment I decided that since there is no harm to the baby or necessarily myself (other then pain) and I don't have much leave time that I would go to work anyway. I work overnight so it's not exactly strenuous. Just a couple counts and some searches. I'd live.
I hope I never do this to a muscle again. Man this hurts!

18 Weeks
I’ve been horrible at returning emails and phone calls. I’ve never been this bad. I’m just tired, sick.
Caleb is doing great. I measured him the other day and he is 4’ 8”. My eight year old is almost 5 feet tall! And handsome as ever.

The baby is growing and move around lots. Especially at night which probably isn’t good. My kid is going to have issues with when to sleep and when to not. Ha! S/he likes to stretch out in my tummy---not the most comfortable feeling in the world. My stomach is definitely expanding. My work pants are about to go out the door and on to the next size. Along with most of my jeans!
Tomorrow is my doctor’s appointment. I’m 18 weeks as of last Monday. Can’t believe that I’m already 4 ½ months along! I will be getting back the results of my seven tubes of blood I donated---7 tubes!!!! This was the Cystic Fibrosis test, Down syndrome and pre-screening. They scared me though when they called me on Monday leaving a message to return his call.
Anyway, here are a couple pictures for you. Yes I’m lingering around in sweats and yes someday I will take a good full picture but for now…here you are.

16 Weeks

Get ready for a growth spurt. In the next few weeks, your baby will double his weight and add inches to his length. (Hopefully I can squeeze in my normal clothes just a tad longer but they’re getting
tight so we shall see) Right now, he's about the size of an avocado: 4 1/2 inches long (head to rump) and 3 1/2 ounces. His legs are much more developed, (Which means all those familiar kicks to the ribs are coming soon enough) his head is more erect than it has been, and his eyes have moved closer to the front of his head. His ears are close to their final position, too. The patterning of his scalp has begun, though his locks aren't recognizable yet. (I’m sure s/he’ll have red
hair, I think it might be unavoidable) He's even started growing toenails. And there's a lot happening inside as well. For example, his heart is now pumping about 25 quarts of blood each day, and this amount will continue to increase as your baby continues to develop.
How your life's changing: The top of your uterus is about halfway between your pubic bone and
your navel, (But has pushed everything else up so I’m at the point where I look either fat or pregnant) and the round ligaments that support it are thickening and stretching as it grows. (Which becomes very obvious when I sneeze lying down, ouch!) You're probably feeling a whole lot better as you settle into pregnancy, too. Less nausea, (Actually no, since I had the flu, I’ve had some
nausea-especially in the car) fewer mood swings, (I can think of a few people that would disagree) and "glowing" skin contribute to an overall sense of well-being. (Ya my skin’s not bad)
Soon you'll experience one of the most wonderful moments of pregnancy — feeling your baby move. (Again just pressure but no movement) While some women notice "quickening" as early as 16 weeks, many don't feel their baby move until about 18 weeks or more. (I can’t remember
when I felt Caleb move) The earliest movements may feel like little flutters, gas bubbles, or even like popcorn popping. Over the following weeks they'll grow stronger and you'll be able to feel them much more frequently. (Cool)
So I haven’t been doing too bad. Like I said above I have been nauseous more which is no fun. I have good days though with lots of energy and feeling ok. I also still get nauseous when I eat so it takes me a while. I’ve been very lucky with this baby, I thought Caleb was going to kill me with how sick I always was.
It’s funny because Caleb tried to come into this world 3 months early and has been impatient ever since (he takes after his mamma). This baby seems to have picked horrible timing to come so I have to wonder if s/he’ll forever have bad timing. However I'll take it however it is and make due. I’m very thankful and you know blessings come at their own time, not mine.
I was thinking about how it would be nice to have a girl. I think it would give my home a change of pace that is needed. Caleb wants it to be a brother but I think it would mellow him out a little too if it was a girl.
